Simulation #1 - FGM

This sunday, we had our society members debating "FGM" within the frame of the UNWomen committee. 

Our delegates represented various countries from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Iran, Mali, Russia and more.

We were thrilled to see how phenomenally our delegates did.

We had the honor to host Dr. Brandon Friedman and Mr. Corey Gil-Shuster, for a Q&A on the geopolitical situation - in Israel-Gaza and outside of it. We had the privilege to open up the Zoom to our partners, friends, and families.

UNDP + IPC SIMULATION 

19/03/2023

This sunday, our society members discussed the topic of "Promoting digital technology in developing countries" within the frame of the UNDP committee. 

This simulation has been very special, since it was the first time we included 5 International Press Corps delegates into the simulation. The combination of two committees brought a new experience that added a lot of motivation and fun into the debate. 

We will definitely do it again! 

JCUMUN 2023

02-05/03/2023

In March 2023, a delegation of 20 TAUMUN members had the honor to participate in JCUMUN's  conference - taking place in Rome, Italy. 

After 4 days of debating, caucusing, motioning and arguing we are safe to say that all of our delegates had an amazing time. 
And the results reflect our delegate's hard work.

UNECE SIMULATION

This sunday, our society members discussed the "ENERGY CRISIS IN EUROPE" within the frame of the UNECE committee. 

The delegates represented challenging countries like Russia, Ukraine, Norway and Turkiye.

We are proud of all the delegates for have done and outstanding job and mastering a challenging topic. We are excited to see what the next simulations will bring!

A CRISIS IN THE LIGHT OF ENERGY

Exciting discussion last night with a panel of experts on the topic of energy as a lens to understand geopolitics, in the wake of the crisis in Europe and the ongoing dispute in Ukraine. 

A big thank you to our panelists, Former Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Guy Feldman, Former Director General of Israel Natural Gas Authority, Alexander Varshavsky, Former Chief Scientist in the Israel Ministry of Energy, Dr. Bracha Halaf, PhD. Candidate of Political Science, Gal Bitton, and Russia & Eastern Europe Analyst, Lev Mashin, for sharing their insightful perspectives on the complex interplay between energy and international relations.

We were able to delve into the ramifications of energy security, the role of natural gas in shaping foreign policy, and the impact of energy on economic and political stability.
It was a valuable conversation that offered a deeper understanding of the current state of affairs in Europe and the significance of the energy sector in the region.

Thank you to all who participated and joined the conversation, and a special thank you to the panelists for their valuable contributions!

WORLD CUP FINALE AND HANUKKAH

This sunday we had to change our usual schedule a little...

We had a lot of fun watching the Finale of the World Cup together - congratulations to the delegation of Argentina! - and afterwards light the first candle for the jewish holiday Hanukkah. 


We are thankful, that this is what MUN is for - a place where Israelis and International students, Jews, Muslims and Christians celebrate together!

OUR FIRST SIMULATION

This sunday, we had our society members debating "GLOBAL DRUG TRAFFICKING" within the frame of the UNODC committee. 

45 Delegates that represented various countries from Bangladesh and Lithuania, to Morocco, Germany and the United States. 

We were thrilled to see with how much skills and passion our delegates embraced this first real MUN experience, and we expect to see great things in the near future! 

 

NEW PARTNERSHIP!

We are excited to announce our new partnership with MANNHEIM MUN! 

MANNHEIM MUN is one of the biggest and leading MUN societies in Germany. Founded in 2009, it counts today 150 members from all university departments and backgrounds. 

This partnership is very special for us and we are looking forward to those cultural, academic and social exchanges. 

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

On sunday we had the first meeting of the new year. 

We introduced the concept of MUN, talked about the conferences we will participate in this year, we met our contact groups and got to know each other with some ice breakers. 

After a short break, we had the pleasure of having Hilli Shalev - TAUMUN's former Chairwoman - to come and speak about the United Nations and her experience of working for the Israeli delegation to the UN. Thank you Hilli! 

At the end we finished the night - of course, at the Hoog! It was a pleasure to meet you all, and we hope you did enjoy as much as we did.
